Job Description

As an independent sports marketing agency, this exciting, entrepreneurial SME has enjoyed ongoing growth and expansion since its inception. Operating within a niche market sector, the organisation specialises in the planning and purchase of dynamic marketing strategies, across all channels, to deliver accountable business results for customers including high profile sports teams, organisations and personalities. With an enviable client portfolio of household names, the business has built a reputation for innovative and eye-catching campaigns. The organisation is currently seeking a qualified Financial Controller to undertake responsibility for the finance function. Supporting the CEO in a stand-alone finance role, your brief includes:

  • Control & management of Group financials, Legal & HR across 3 business entities
  • Deal structuring to ensure optimum returns; commercial contract negotiation; new business
  • Delivering & management of quarterly UK management accounts & control of management accounting process for China entity
  • Creating short & long-term business planning
  • Management of sales pipeline process & development of Salesforce reporting
  • Month-end reporting including collating supplier & client invoices for processing by outsourced finance team; expenses sign off & processing; sign-off of China monthly/quarterly statutory & reporting requirements; cash-flow reporting; credit control responsibility for group
  • Cashflow management; multi-currency & FX management; global payment authorisation
  • Global taxation planning; preparation & Management of Group statutory reporting; oversight of Company Secretarial requirements for all entities
  • In-housing several financial duties and creation of a finance team accordingly

As a qualified accountant with hands on financial and management accounting, statutory reporting and process implementation experience, gained within a fast-moving SME environment, you demonstrate a track record of adding value, establishing robust financial controls and finance systems implementation. The role demands strong technical accounting and reporting skills, an eye for detail and a pro-active approach.
