Associate Director of FP&A
Chicago – hybrid, 3 days a week in the office
$180,000 – $210,000 + bonus and benefits

 

The Company

An Associate Director of FP&A role is available for this world leading Professional Services organisation, with multiple offices around the world. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a collaborative and diverse organisation. This is a key role where you can drive the day-to-day activities and administration related to the Firm’s Financial Planning & Analysis. You will be working cross-functionally with the business, supporting key decision making and business planning activities, and leading a team.

 

Key Responsibilities of the Associate Director of FP&A

 

  • Leading a team of FP&A specialists, within a training and mentoring mindset
  • Ownership of the P&L for review, analysis & reporting
  • Lead with data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making and optimize resource allocation.
  • Providing support on technical accounting papers, board papers & interim/year end preparation
  • Supporting the development of rolling reforecasting for revenue & net income
  • Understanding revenue trends, KPIs & potential issues
  • Management of business unit cost centres to manage operating expenditure & provide commercial business challenge to ensure operational, commercial & financial targets are achieved
  • Financial planning for business unit cost centres to drive budgeting & forecasting cycles
  • Financial analysis of business unit performance
  • Supporting the delivery of a continuous FP&A transformation agenda

 

Skills & Attributes of the Associate Director of FP&A

 

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in accounting, finance, business, economics or similar
  • Proven P&L management and analysis, financial planning and forecasting experience, ideally in a global professional services environment
  • Ability to present financial information in a clear and concise manner to non-finance business partners and strong Excel skills.
  • Highly detail-oriented with a strong ability to maintain a strategic, big-picture perspective
  • Self-motivated, proactive individual with commercial flair and analytical capability, who can influence key stakeholders and implement change and innovation.
