A rapidly scaling, private equity-backed technology company is looking to appoint a Head of Finance to take ownership of the full finance function and partner closely with the CFO on strategic direction, governance and sustainable growth. This position blends operational financial leadership with commercial insight, ensuring the business is equipped with clear, data-driven analysis to support effective decision-making and long-term value creation.

Key Responsibilities of the Head of Finance
  • Strategic Financial Leadership - Support the CFO in developing and implementing financial strategies aligned with organisational objectives. Provide financial planning, forecasting and risk management insight to senior leadership and the Board.
  • Board & Stakeholder Reporting - Lead the preparation and delivery of monthly business performance reporting to the Board of Directors and key stakeholders, ensuring clarity, accuracy and commercial relevance.
  • Oversight of Financial Operations - Oversee accounting, FP&A, payroll, tax and treasury activities, ensuring accurate and timely reporting across P&L, balance sheet and cash flow. Maintain robust financial processes across multiple currencies.
  • Compliance & Governance Management - Ensure compliance with UK financial reporting standards, statutory requirements and corporate tax obligations. Maintain effective internal controls and financial risk registers, and manage the external audit process.
  • Finance Team Leadership - Lead and develop a team of four direct reports, fostering high performance, accountability and continuous improvement. Promote effective collaboration across various functions including Legal, BI, IT, Compliance and HR.
Skills & Attributes of the Head of Finance
  • Professional Accounting Qualification - Qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA with strong technical accounting expertise and experience managing statutory financial statements and audits.
  • Strong Financial Operations Experience - Demonstrable experience managing month-end processes and overseeing statutory reporting in a multi-currency environment. Experience within SaaS or subscription-based businesses is desirable.
  • Regulatory & Tax Knowledge - Sound understanding of UK financial reporting standards and corporate tax requirements. Knowledge of UK and US sales tax frameworks is advantageous.
  • Analytical & Organisational Strength - Excellent analytical capability with a high level of attention to detail and strong organisational skills. Demonstrates ownership of both individual and team output.
  • Stakeholder & Leadership Capability - Confident engaging with senior stakeholders, auditors and advisors, with the ability to provide clear financial insight. Experience within a private equity-backed environment, treasury management or due diligence processes is desirable.
