Are you looking to make a difference? We’re searching for an Innovation Director to lead the growth and development of Legal Technology and other Business Solutions at an established legal practice. This firm has ambitious growth plans and a strong focus on innovation and client service. The Innovation Director will lead the development and implementation of the firm’s business solutions and legal technology strategy, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives. Working closely with the COO, the role sits at the intersection of legal service delivery, technology and operational excellence, supporting continuous improvement across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities of the Innovation Director
· Lead Business Solutions Strategy - Design and continuously refine the firm’s Business Solutions strategy, ensuring alignment with wider business objectives and growth plans.
· Drive Legal Technology Innovation - Identify, evaluate and implement legal technology and AI solutions to enhance client service, operational efficiency and productivity across the firm.
· Champion Adoption and Engagement - Promote a culture of technology-led innovation, acting as a senior advocate for new tools and services while driving engagement and firmwide adoption.
· Oversee Governance and Performance - Establish governance frameworks, standards and policies across knowledge systems and processes, and define KPIs to monitor performance and report to Executive management.
· Lead Cross-Functional Collaboration - Work closely with IT leadership, Business Units and support teams to gather requirements, design solutions and manage Business Analysts in delivering effective change.
Skills & Attributes of the Innovation Director
· Legal Technology Leadership Experience - Demonstrable experience leading legal technology or innovation initiatives within a law firm or professional services environment.
· Strategic And Commercial Acumen - Strong understanding of legal service delivery and the evolving legal market, with the ability to align technology initiatives to commercial priorities.
· Change And Project Management Expertise - Proven capability in business analysis and project management, with the ability to lead complex change programmes and drive cultural adoption.
· Digital Transformation Knowledge - In-depth understanding of legal tech, AI tools and emerging technologies, with the ability to translate technical capability into practical business solutions.
· Senior Stakeholder Engagement Skills - Excellent communication and influencing skills, with experience engaging senior stakeholders and leading firmwide initiatives collaboratively and effectively.
