Key Responsibilities of the Innovation Specialist:

 

  • Support change projects – assist with client service, collaboration, and process improvement initiatives across the firm.

  • Turn ideas into action – help translate lawyer and client needs into practical solutions using legal tech, automation, and data tools.

  • Learn and apply legal tech – gain hands-on experience with platforms such as document automation, AI tools, and collaboration systems.

  • Connect teams – support communication between lawyers, technologists, and clients, helping to simplify complex ideas.

  • Promote innovation – contribute to training sessions, showcases, and awareness campaigns that embed innovation in day-to-day work.

  • Stay curious – keep up with emerging technologies and market trends, exploring how new tools could benefit the firm.

 

Skills & Attributes of the Innovation Specialist:

 

  • Some experience or strong interest in legal technology, process improvement, or innovation (e.g. through work experience, internships, or academic projects).

  • Excellent communication skills – able to explain concepts clearly and work well with a variety of stakeholders.

  • An understanding of how legal or professional services operate, with an interest in how technology can improve delivery.

  • Organised, proactive, and keen to learn – able to manage tasks, support multiple projects, and take initiative.

  • A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for problem-solving and continuous improvement.
