An opportunity has been created for a Finance Analyst to provide strategic and comprehensive financial analysis to a multitude of business units. The firm is a leading global £multi-billion turnover Legal Professional Services group, operating within the UK, Europe, US and Asia-PAC markets. They have developed an enviable reputation for outstanding professional services and delivering innovative products & service solutions. Enjoying continued growth through service and market development, the business delivers challenging assignments for a worldwide blue-chip client base.

Key Responsibilities of the Finance Analyst
 
  • Financial Point of Contact: Serves as the primary liaison for financial queries from senior business unit stakeholders, delivering monthly KPIs and clear commentary on profitability drivers.
  • Strategic Financial Analysis: Produces detailed financial analyses and presents monthly results, historical trends, and forecasts to support strategic decisions within practice groups.
  • Performance Monitoring: Evaluates results against targets, tracks trends, highlights issues, and implements solutions to enhance financial outcomes.
  • Stakeholder Support: Responds to ad hoc requests from Partners and internal teams, utilising advanced Excel, Tableau, and presentation skills for robust data insights.
  • Planning & Reporting: Collaborates with Business Managers and Partners during planning, budgeting, reforecasting, and prepares tailored presentations for management reviews and meetings.


Skills & Attributes of the Finance Analyst
 
  • Professional Qualification: Qualified or part-qualified / finalist - ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent
  • Sector Experience: Preferably brings experience from the legal sector or wider professional services environment.
  • Analytical Expertise: Demonstrates strong capability in financial data analysis, variance reporting, and forecasting future performance.
  • Effective Communicator: Highly numerate with proven confidence engaging and advising senior stakeholders.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced Excel skills essential; experienced in Tableau dashboard creation (or keen to develop), with proficiency in PowerPoint.
